Everyone can remember where they were when the towers came down. Hell I still do. I remember I was still a shiny new EMT. I just had raced to the station and turned on the TV after hearing that a plane had hit the World Trade Center. I watched for a minute and woke up the one duty crew in a panic. I knew that this was a world changing event. I always go to my shift any hour early since the drive was an hour and I wanted an extra hour of margin for anything that could happen. The crew bitched at being woke up but when they saw the TV we all sat in stunned silence.
We kept watching through out the day. Then the towers fell. those were our brothers in there saving people dying. We all cried, prayed, cursed, and swore revenge and those who did this horrible act of terror. As the minutes, hours, and days went by we grew numb to pain we felt. How could this happen here. The land of the free and home of the brave? 4 planes in total Hi-jacked by terrorists.
As I watched the last part of a movie today called United Flight 93 based on the only plane brought down by the passengers that fateful day 15 years ago. My Mom said to me "We were Lucky that it did not hit the capitol." I said "Bullshit mom, if those ass clown hit the capitol Mecca and Medina would have been bombed out of this world." "Bush would have not played games and gone the slow route he did, we would have formed a full on coalition with Israel, Jordan, and Egypt. We would have then given the Saudi's the choice play ball or start eating bacon bitches. We would split up Iraq and Iran along tribal lines and create Kurdistan for our Kurdish allies who would run our new oil holding."
But this never would have happened. My ideas are considered hate speech these days. Thousand years ago I would be just another good Catholic Crusader. Maybe we need those type of guys again especially on 9/11 so we never forget.
